Richard (Dick) H. Phelan
Richard (Dick) H. Phelan has been assisting individuals with their financial direction since 1992, when he joined the Wilson Investment Group. Taking the step towards retirement, Dick began transitioning his clients to his son, Todd Phelan, in December 2021. His attention and thoroughness provided him excellent client loyalty. Dick earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional designation from the College of Financial Planning in July of 1993.
Born and raised in Davenport, Iowa, Dick graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a B.S. Degree in Engineering. He later graduated with Master’s Degrees in: Ops Analysis from United States Naval Post Graduate School; in Management from Salve Regina College; and in National Security and Strategic Studios from the United States Naval War College. He subsequently spent numerous years as a Navy pilot. Dick spent 16 years as an elected member of the Auburn City Council, serves as a board member for the Auburn Veterans Committee, the Special Olympics of Alabama, and is a past president of the Auburn Rotary Club.
Dick and his wife, Edna, reside in Auburn and have four married children and ten grandchildren. They are members of Auburn United Methodist Church.
